Read us and learn more about who we are

I'm Martina from Atelier 15 Madrid, an architecture and Cohousing consultancy studio. In this article we want to tell you what Cohousing is and where it comes from, because it is an honour to share with you that we women have another achievement in history: Cohousing has feminine origins.

Around 21 June comes the solstice, the time of year with the shortest night and, therefore, the longest day; it marks the start of summer. It is the triumph of light over darkness, and it has been celebrated as such since time immemorial. From then on, almost imperceptibly at first, the days grow shorter minute by minute until the winter solstice, when exactly the opposite happens.

I'm Eva from Escriña Diseño Gráfico, Alicia's colleague. It was she who told me that Gema was organising a "bohemian" networking group (that's what she called it at first). It was an in-person meeting place just for women, where we shared concerns, our own and other people's projects, and our experiences in the tough world of work.

Networking en Femenino (NEF) is a space for building our home, where we share ideas and ways of doing things, make ourselves visible and learn together so that we can grow and sow together. It is our place to recognise ourselves, support each other and reinvent ourselves. To find our own "rooms of one's own" with windows onto those of others.
